The Informed Notaries of Maine provides valuable and
necessary training to Maine Notaries Public in many different
ways.
Newsletter
All members of INM receive a bi-monthly newsletter
containing educational articles and tips on how to perform a
variety of tasks. Members also share their experiences to
help others understand and be able to work through some of
the difficulties they may encounter.

Workshops
Small regional or topic specific workshops are sometimes held
in various regions throughout the state. INM will also hold
workshops for employees at their place of work at the
employers request. The workshop schedule is shown
below:
Workshop Policies:
- Anyone requiring special assistance must contact Member Services at least two weeks prior to the
event to allow time for arrangements to be made. Call 846-8959 or send an
e-mail to Member
Services.
- The registration cut-off date is seven (7) calendar days
before the workshop.
- Registrations after the cut-off date or at the door
will pay a $10 late fee.
Conferences
Each year, usually the third week in April, INM holds a
one-day educational conference. The conference includes a
variety of topics such as: wedding instructions/ tips, an
update on Maine notary law, signing agent / mobile notary
information, identification techniques, etc. INM varies the
location of the conference to try and make it accessible to
all Maine notaries, the conferences have been held from South
Portland to Bangor.
Publications
INM publishes a variety of educational materials:
- A student workbook; this is frequently used in
workshops and adult education classes.
- Wedding Kit; a source of wedding information, including
sample ceremonies, marriage and renewal vows
certificates.
